Mrs. Hattie Wilcox was a Davenport visitor Monday.

Silas Wait has moved into the Mrs. Sarah Besse house.

Miss Alma Kirkland spent Sunday at Rock Island with her sister Miss Hazel.

Mrs. C.D. Hannon went to Davenport last Friday to visit her son and daughter, returning Monday evening.

Miss Miranda Gardner has carpenters at work erecting a dwelling house on her property opposite the school. The house will be 22x28 two story.

"Dolls in Toyland" at auditorium Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 19 and 20. A musical attraction. Price 15, 25 and 25 cents. Remember the date.

Mrs. S.A. Cunningham spent Monday evening at Barstow with her son O.J. and wife.

Skating at rink every Wednesday and Saturday nights.

The Ladies Aid Society of Portland had an all day meeting Thursday at the home of Mrs. John Walker, who was a former member of the society.

John Pepper had the misfortune Tuesday evening to fall down stairs and is now in serious condition and Dr. McEntire gives little hope for his recovery.

Andrew Anderson who occupies the Geo. Mason farm fell from a hayrack last Saturday monring and fractured his collar bone. Mr. Anderson had a sale last week and was getting ready to move to Minnesota.

Died
John Fisher received word Wednesday from White, S.D., of the death of Leslie Earl Denison, the five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl M. Denison. The deceased died of pneumonia. Mrs. Denison is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fisher. The remains are expected here today and will be buried in the Erie Cemetery. Our readers will remember that the Denison household was afflicted with scarlet fever it was at this place that Mrs. Rinker died.
