Attorney Sheldon of Rock Falls was here Monday on business.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Castle, Sunday, August 12, 1900, a son.
The heavy rains this week stopped buzzing of many threshing machines for a couple of days.
At the old settlers' picnic August 30th, the Morrison band will furnish the music, and Rev. J. R. Creighton of Prophetstown, will deliver the address.
A dance will be given at Burchell's opera house, Thursday evening, August 30th. Music by Morrison Mandolin Club. Tickets 75 cents; Spectators 25 cents. Supper at Marshall's restaurant.
Mrs. R. Y. Breed and children are visiting at Princeton.
Mrs. Loyd Eddy returned to her home in Tampico last Tuesday accompanied by Miss Nina Oakey.
Arthur McLane and wife have gone to Bridgeport, Conn., to spend sometime visiting relatives and friends.
Mrs. Eunice Guy and children expect to leave Monday for Michigan to join her husband who has located at Buchanan.
Thos. and Harry Bennett came out from Chicago this week. Harry will remain here and Thos will return after visiting his mother and other relatives.
Lester Fadden had an operation performed on his big toe last Tuesday. He cut it with an axe last week and proud flesh gathered so that Dr. McEntire had to burn it out. The little fellow is getting along nicely now.

Miss May Hoobler and Miss Maud Aldofeer of Sterling is visiting G. W. Byam and family.
Geo. Robinson and family went out Monday to spend the weekend at camp on Rock River about ...miles below Erie.
Mrs. J.R. Besse is erecting an addition to the east side of her dwelling. the new part is 14 x20, W. P. Burris is doing the work.
